Money saving habits

  • Turn down your heating thermostat to 68 degrees or lower – even less at night or when you are gone. Every degree lower can reduce the heating portion of your bill by 2%.
  • Turn down your water heater thermostat. Don’t know how? Instructions at your local PUD office.
  • Shut off unused lights, computers, TVs, appliances.
  • Stop warm air from leaving the home. Close chimney flues, doors, and windows
  • Air dry dishes and clothes
  • Run only full loads in dishwashers and clothes washers
  • Clean/replace your furnace or heat pump filters every month when in use
  • Clean your refrigerator coils quarterly and your dryer filter after every use
  • Get an even longer list of ideas from your local PUD office
