The Board of Commissioners approved changes to the Electric System Rate Schedules at their meeting on March 31, 2008, by adopting Resolution 1862-08. Overall, the rate change is a 6.5% increase.

The District is holding three public rate hearings for the proposed 6.5% increase. The meetings will be held on March 10 at the Port Angeles Office, March 17 in Forks, and March 24 at the Carlsborg Operations Center. All the meetings will be held at 1:30 p.m.

What should I do when my power goes out?
First, make sure the switches of your circuit breaker are all in the on position or that you haven't blown any fuses. If everything appears to be fine, then call your PUD at 360-452-9771 to report the outage.

PUD #1 of Clallam County and Clallam County invite the community to a public meeting on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Greywolf Elementary School (171 Carlsborg Rd., Sequim). The purpose of the meeting is to present the sewer feasibility study final report for the Carlsborg Urban Growth Area (UGA) and to facilitate and respond to public input.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. There will be a presentation at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Q&A session until approximately 8:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

The PUD is implementing a new Outage Management System designed to handle high volume incoming calls and at the same time identify and track multiple outages. Successful implementation of the system before the winter storm season requires correct phone information for all PUD customers.

A good crowd turned out last night at Greywolf School in Carlsborg for the first public meeting of a feasibility study of installing a sewer system in Carlsborg. Carlsborg is now an Urban Growth area, and there are indications of increasing nitrates getting into the ground water due to growth in the area and possibly failing septic systems.

The City has adopted a Water Shortage Response Plan and it is the intent of the PUD to cooperate and complement the City Plan for those systems supplied by water from the City. In addition, the PUD will cooperate with the City of Sequim in water shortages periods.

Today, District water customers who live in Gales Addition, Monroe, and Mt. Angeles Water Systems can discontinue the Every Other Day Outdoor Water
Restrictions that required them to restrict lawn watering and all nonessential water use. They will now be moved back to Voluntary Water Restrictions until their water source, the Elwha River (via the City of Port Angeles), fully returns to normal.

On July 8, 2004, by a vote of 2 to 1, Clallam County PUD Commissioners signed an agreement with the City of Port Angeles that averted a substantial decrease in water supply to 2,800 PUD customers. The area affected includes 23 square miles from the eastern Port Angeles city limits east to Shore Road. Commissioner Will Purser, President of the Board, made the motion to accept the contract; Commissioner Ted Simpson seconded the motion. Commissioner Hugh Haffner voted "no."
