Fairview District Water Usage Restrictions Ended
(Port Angeles, Wash.) – The Washington State Dept. of Ecology has authorized Clallam County PUD #1 to end restrictions on water use by its customers in the Fairview Water System. The PUD began notifying customers today.
The restrictions are being lifted due to increased Morse Creek stream flows to levels above the 25 cubic-feetper-second (cfs) minimum. Due to recent rains and the onset of the wet fall season, Morse Creek flows are reliably above the minimum flow level. Stream flows had been below 25 cfs since August 25. Since then the approximately 1,500 customers in the Fairview system have been under mandatory water restrictions. Their actions produced a significant reduction in water usage.
“We would like to thank all of our water customers who conserved water during the past few weeks,” said Mike Kitz, the PUD’s water and waste water systems superintendent. “Additionally, we encourage our customers to practice voluntary conservation wherever possible into the future to help protect our water supplies, lower our costs and keep water rates down.”
The PUD encourages customers to visit www.wateruseitwisely.com for more information about water conservation. Customers with questions or comments regarding this issue are encouraged to contact Kitz at 565-3216, or mikek@clallampud.net; or Assistant Superintendent Tom Martin at 565-3449 or
