9:05 am - Boil Water Advisory Issued for Portions of the Clallam Bay–Sekiu Water System

Clallam PUD has issued a Boil Water Advisory for portions of the Clallam Bay–Sekiu Water System following a significant water main break.

Working in coordination with the Washington State Department of Health, the District is issuing this advisory because the emergency event may jeopardize public health.

Areas Under the Boil Water Advisory

The advisory applies to PUD water customers in:

  • Sekiu
  • West of Sekiu
  • The Middle Point area
  • Along Highway 112 west of Kalawa Street in Clallam Bay

Customers in these areas should boil all tap water before drinking until further notice. Bring water to a rolling boil for one minute, then allow it to cool before using. Use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

Areas Not Affected

Customers in Clallam Bay east of Kalawa Street are not impacted by the Boil Water Advisory.

Repairs and Water Conservation

PUD water crews are actively working to repair the water main break. Customers affected by the advisory will receive additional notifications when the advisory has been lifted. Updates will also be posted on the Clallam PUD website and social media channels.

All customers throughout the Clallam Bay–Sekiu Water System are asked to conserve water, even if they are not under the Boil Water Advisory. The water main break is impacting the District's ability to refill drinking water reservoirs while repairs are underway.
