Strategic Initiatives
- Diversify energy sources to adapt with climate change, unfavorable prices, and emerging regulatory mandates.
- Diversify water sources to adapt with climate change, unfavorable prices, and emerging regulatory mandates.
- Diversify broadband infrastructure technologies to meet evolving connectivity demands.
- Commit to required infrastructure upgrades and maintenance to ensure long-term reliability and efficiency.
- Implement demand-side management programs to encourage customers to use electricity more efficiently.
- Promote water conservation programs and efficient water use practices to reduce overall water demand.
- Implement energy-efficient technologies and practices to reduce electricity consumption.
- Implement advanced technologies such as smart grids and Internet of things Internet of Things (IoT: the collective network of connected devices and the technology that facilitates communication between devices and the cloud, as well as between the devices themselves) for real-time monitoring and control in the electric and water sectors.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations and adapt to meet or exceed compliance standards.
- Active participation in regional trade organizations and BP A to contribute to the development of policies that align with the District's resource management goals.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance resilience against environmental and cybersecurity risks.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) related to resource sufficiency and regularly measure and report on them.
