Employment FAQ

How do I know when a job opening becomes available?

All current job openings are posted on our website. You may want to check back often. The Opportunity Notice for each position listed gives details on when applications are due. For some postings, we will refer to a first review date. This indicates the date that the District will start reviewing the applications received by that date. We will continue to receive applications until the position is filled. For some postings, there is a deadline for submission of an application packet.

We may also advertise in the Peninsula Daily News, in a Sunday edition. You can view their classified ads online.

Do I need to apply separately for each position I am interested in?

Yes, you will need to apply and complete a new Employment Application for each position that you are interested in.  The Opportunity Notice, Job Description and Supplemental Questionnaire are different for each job posting and we want to be sure your application is considered for any position in which you are interested and qualified.

What forms do I need to submit to apply for a current job opening?

Check out the Application Submittal Checklist link for more details. In general, each job posting requires submission of a completed Supplemental Questionnaire and Employment Application forms. The Equal Employment Data sheet is voluntary. You may attach other documents including a cover letter and your résumé that may be helpful to the interview team in determining the best candidate for the position.

What employee benefits do you offer?

We offer an excellent and competitive compensation and benefits package. The Employee Benefits section of our Careers page details our comprehensive package.
