If you are selected for post-enrollment verification and you do not provide documentation, or you are found ineligible for the program, you will be removed from the program and will need to return the funds you received to the PUD.
You can always come back to the PUD with correct documentation and be re-enrolled in the program after 90 days. However, your enrollment will be revoked until you do so.
If your account is closed and a final bill is sent, you will need to reapply for the discount. If you transfer service to a new location of primary residence, your discount will transfer with you for the remainder of the 24 months! Be sure to ask for your discount to move with you when you transfer service.
We use your income and household information to determine how much monthly energy assistance you are eligible to receive. The PUD does not share your personal income information with anyone.
The PUD looks at overall energy bills from the last year, how much additional energy assistance you receive, and how much you spend on wood, propane, and gas in addition to your electric bill.
We use a categorical eligibility and traditional income verification model. This means that your enrollment certification from other community assistance programs may be sufficient to determine your eligibility. If you aren’t enrolled in these programs, we can verify your income with pay stubs and IRS tax returns.
Applicants have a choice to provide documentation when they apply. If you don’t, you may be selected for post-enrollment verification. The documents we ask for are the same regardless of the application route you choose.
