Final Update: July 3 Outage
July 3, 2016

Final Update

Power was restored to all customers at 10:26pm.

The original cause of the outage remains unknown, but the nature of the repairs suggest the transmission line was contacted by a tree or tree limb.  There were high winds in the area.

Update 2

At approximately 9:00pm, power was restored to most customers. There were still about 500 without power on or near Black Diamond Road.

Update 1

Because this is a transmission issue, the PUD must work with the Bonneville Power Administration to address the outage.  PUD crews and BPA personnel are working it.

Initial Post

Approximately 2500 customers West of Port Angeles are without power.  The power outage is due to an outage on the transmission line.   The outage began about 3:30pm.

Cause is unknown at this time, but there are high winds in the area that are likely creating issues with trees.

PUD crews are responding, but there is not estimated time of restoration yet.

Thank you for your patience as we work to address this.  Be safe this Independence Day Weekend.
