The Office of the Washington State Auditor has recognized Clallam PUD for its dedication to accountability and transparency in government. Specifically, Finance and Accounting Manager Sarah Canepa, Controller/Auditing Officer Lori Carter and the entire finance department were praised for their collaborative approach to the audit process and dedication to accurate financial reporting.
A team from the State Auditor’s office, including Washington State Auditor Pat McCarthy, were onsite to present the award in person.
Additionally acknowledged were staff involved in the District’s energy compliance examinations. In particular, Assistant General Manager Shailesh Shere, Power Analyst Tyler King, and Energy Conservation Supervisor Mattais Järvegren were commended for their quick responses to information requests and effective implementation of audit recommendations to improve the District's compliance
Pat McCarthy stated “It is apparent District management and staff want to be accountable to the citizens and good stewards of public funds, which increases public trust in government.”
