Low-Income Community Solar

The PUD has recently installed solar panels on its Main Office building and its Engineering Annex in Carlsborg. The solar installations are funded through a tax credit that the PUD will receive on its State utility taxes through Washington State’s Community Solar Expansion Program that’s managed by WSU’s Energy Programs and is intended to provide low-income access to community solar projects. All of the generation from the solar arrays will be monetized annually at our BPA Tier 1 rate and the monetary value of the energy will be provided to low-income and energy-burdened customers as an annual bill credit. The individual low-income and energy-burdened customer bill credit will be a function of how many of low-income and energy-burdened customers sign up for the bill credit.Solar array on the Carlsborg Main Office
