As a follow-up to last quarter’s newsletter announcement about our grant from the American Public Power Association for the purchase of portable batteries with solar panel, we have fulfilled as many applications as possible on the West End and are opening applications to any qualifying PUD customer in Clallam County! These batteries are intended to be distributed to customers who may be dependent upon one or more devices for a medical need that could be life-threatening in the event of a longer-term power outage. The remaining batteries will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until they are gone.
Applicants must be a qualified and verified participant in the PUD’s Low-Income Energy Assistance program. To apply for the monthly PUD Low-Income Energy Assistance discount, visit https://www.clallampud.net/pud-low-income-energy-assistance-program/

Applications will be accepted until the grant funds are depleted.
BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION:
Please read the Terms and Conditions at the above link as you will need to sign the form attesting to having read and understanding them when you pick up your unit.
Take pictures of each of your medical devices and manufacturer’s decal or name plate information showing voltage, wattage and amperage as you will need to upload those pictures before submitting the form (See name plate/label example.)

Please allow one week for processing. Our staff will review the devices to match the battery to your power needs and verify eligibility. Once approved, you will be contacted to arrange a time to pick up your device at either the Forks or Sekiu office.
