In November, the District earned an Excellence in Public Power Communications Award from the American Public Power Association in the Web and Social Media category for the PUD’s website, which went through a redesign in 2025.
The awards were presented at APPA’s Customer Connections Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. The annual awards recognize excellence in communications. The entries are judged in three categories: Print & Digital, Web & Social Media, and Video. Awards were given to those that showed ingenuity and creativity in telling their stories through outstanding copy, design, financial data presentation, graphics, social media engagement, video editing, and web layout and interactivity.
“We are honored to be recognized with this award,” said Sean Worthington, General Manager. “One of our Strategic Objectives is Continuous Performance Improvement and we hope the refreshed website significantly improves the customer experience.”
Communications Manager Nicole Hartman added “Partnering with Powerful, a public power utility-driven website design company, was a perfect partner due to their understanding of the public power model which recognizes the uniqueness of each service area. The new website also provides access for all our customers with new accessibility and language translation features.”
