You may have noticed a new voice when you call the District’s Energy Conservation Department. Starting last spring Barb Sires has joined our Energy Conservation team, and she’s been busy getting up to speed on all of our energy conservation program requirements, reviewing bids for windows, heat pumps, and insulation jobs.
Barb was an internal hire and has worked in both the District’s customer service and accounting departments. Before she joined us, she worked for the Port
Angeles School District. She’s supported her husband’s construction company, and she’s not a new voice to many in our local contractor community.
We asked Barb which of the District’s core values (Respect, Ethical, Safe, Proactive, Excellence, Customers, and Teamwork) she relates to the most. Her response was that while she finds them all valuable, the one that she finds most relatable is Respect. “From my perspective mutual respect drives all the other core values. A desire to really see and understand others and their needs and perspectives, as well as regular self-reflection keeps me in a position of wanting the best for co-workers, customers and myself.”
